*I’m available for an adoption trial!* 🏡 Carlos is looking for a home with a secure yard and someone who is home more often than not. 🐶🐱 Carlos needs to be the only pet in the home. 👪 Carlos is suited to an adults-only home. Meet Carlos, our ginger ninja! He’s been with us for almost a year, and we’ve come to know him as a happy, affectionate boy who loves toys, cuddles, walks and charging around the yard while throwing squeaky things in the air. Like many shelter dogs, Carlos is sensitive, playful, excitable and a little anxious, but he’s also loyal, charming and eager to please. Carlos is looking for an adults-only home with no other pets, where he’ll be given the time, patience and support he needs to settle into everyday life. New environments can make him feel worried, but he responds well to reassurance from his people. He also becomes frustrated when he can see something he wants but can’t access, particularly through fences or while out on walks. Because of this, he’ll thrive with someone who can guide him through the transition with compassion, consistency, stability and structure. Carlos needs a home with a secure yard, and a quieter environment with fewer neighbouring dogs would be ideal. When Carlos sees something exciting in passing, he can become highly aroused and reactive, and (let’s be honest) he carries on like a bit of a pork chop. For this reason, we’re looking for someone who is committed to helping him build his social skills and stay in regular contact with us so we can support his progress. Although Carlos needs to be the only pet in the home, he genuinely enjoys playing with other dogs. Once he’s had time to decompress, a skilled handler can facilitate careful, tactful introductions with calm, highly compatible dogs so he can continue to enjoy appropriate social interactions.
