About Pongo

Pongo’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was extremely underweight and covered in lesions, clearly having had a rough start to life. Despite everything he’s been through, Pongo is slowly learning that the world can be a safe and kind place. Pongo likes to take his time getting to know new people. At first, he prefers to keep a little distance — happily running around with his toys while silently judging you from afar and making sure there’s nothing to worry about. But with patience, gentle encouragement, and time, his playful personality begins to shine through. Pongo is looking for a calm, understanding owner who is happy to let him move at his own pace as he learns to trust again. Watching him slowly come out of his shell and show his happy, goofy side is incredibly rewarding, and he deserves a family willing to give him that chance. Pongo would be best suited to an adult-only home with no other dogs, where he can feel safe, secure, and build confidence in his own time. With love, patience, and a safe home, Pongo has all the potential to blossom into a loyal and playful companion.
